Two named to All-Centennial Conference team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the McDaniel College baseball team have been named to the 2009 All-Centennial Conference (CC) team on Wednesday.

            Senior Harold Baines, Jr. (St. Michaels, Md./St. Michaels) was tabbed to the second team while senior Russell Coover (Schulykill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) earned honorable mention nods.
            Baines, an outfielder, earned his first all-conference nod after leading the Green Terror (15-15, 7-11 CC) with a .375 batting average. He rapped out a single-season record 48 hits. He also paced the team with 11 doubles, three home runs and 34 runs scored. He ranked second on the team with 26 RBIs.
            Coover, an outfielder, matched Baines with a .375 batting average but had 16 fewer at bats. He finished second on the team with 42 hits and was third with 28 runs scored. His 29 runs batted in paced the squad.
