AUBURNDALE, Fla. – McDaniel plated four runs in the fifth inning of game two to finish a doubleheader sweep of Daniel Webster in the team's opening day of the 2013 RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in non-conference baseball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (7-2) took the opener 1-0 behind a complete-game, nine-strikeout shutout from James Chiorello (East Windsor, N.J./Lawrenceville Prep) before taking game two, 4-2. Sean Sivo (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) led the way offensively with five hits combined in the twinbill.

Darrik Marstaller and Erick Bourdeau notched two hits apiece to lead the Eagles (6-4), who were wrapping up their 10-game schedule in Florida.

After leaving the bases loaded in the bottom of the first in game one, Garret Nemser (Hartsdale, N.Y./Edgemont) rapped a one-out double in the second.

After taking third on a groundout, Nemser scored the game's lone run on a Sivo two-out single.

Chiorello and Davis Wesson battled the rest of the way, allowing a combined nine baserunnners until walks to Joe Fiore (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Beach) and Tyler Jackow (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) chased Wesson. James Harvey recorded a strikeout to get out of the inning but Chiorello retired the side in order in the seventh for the win.

Marstaller reached on an error to lead off the bottom of the first in the nightcap before stealing second, taking third on a Kyle Brigham single and scoring on a Bourdeau double to stake Daniel Webster to a 1-0 lead.

Zach Jones (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and Sean Hannon made it a pitchers' duel for the next three innings before Nemser led of the fifth with a walk.

Jackow sacrificed him to second before a Sivo single scored pinch-runner Chad Nazelrod (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) to knot the game.

Sivo stole second before scoring on a Pat Christopher (Union Beach, N.J./St. John Vianney) single to right field for a 2-1 lead.

Cameron Bahr (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) followed with a walk before Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) singled with two outs to score both runners, giving the Green Terror a 4-1 lead.

Brett Woods led off the bottom of the inning with a single before a one-out error and second catcher's interference loaded the bases.

Brigham drew a walk to force in Wood and chase Jones. Andrew Monger (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) got a strikeout and groundout to get out of the bases-loaded jam.

Monger worked out of a second bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh to earn his second save of the season and give Jones his third win.

Sivo went 3-for-4 in game two while Christopher and Betts each added two hits.

McDaniel returns to action against Endicott on Sunday. Game time is 10 a.m.
