WESTMINSTER, Md. – A pair of McDaniel baseball players are playing in high-profile summer collegiate baseball leagues.
Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha), a rising senior, is playing this summer for the North Adams SteepleCats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) while Will Strauss (Freeport, N.Y./Waldorf), a rising sophomore, is part of the Sag Harbor Whalers of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL).
Rosanova, a shortstop, started all 35 games for the Green Terror in 2017. He hit .340 from the leadoff spot, rapping out 51 hits that included seven doubles, three triples and a home run. He scored 30 runs and drove in 24. He was 24-for-31 in stolen bases.
The NECBL is highly regarded as one of the best summer prospect leagues in the country. Since the league's inception in 1994, it has sent 125 alumni to the major leagues, including 37 currently playing in the major leagues.

Strauss, a third baseman, started eight of his 15 appearances during his freshman campaign. He hit .268 with 11 hits that included a pair of doubles. He had seven RBIs and scored four runs.
The HCBL is also regarded as a top collegiate prospect league in the country. Since its inception in 2008, the league has had 125 alumni drafted with nine making it to the major leagues.
