LANCASTER, Pa. - Nick DeLuca (Devon, Pa./Towson), a freshman on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 7.

After watching Gettysburg take a 20-19 lead with four minutes to play, the Green Terror (5-4, 3-4 CC) marched down the field and moved inside the five-yard line in the waning seconds. After a timeout with 0.7 seconds showing on the clock, DeLuca trotted on the field for a 20-yard game-winning field goal from the left hash. He converted for the third time in the game as time expired, sending his team to a 22-20 victory.

He also added field goals of 40 yards and 22 yards in the first half. His 40-yarder matched the rookie's career long.

For the season, DeLuca is 7-for-8 on field-goal attempts.

McDaniel concludes the season at home against Johns Hopkins on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
