LANCASTER, Pa. – Chris Kolb (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key), a senior on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 18.
It marks the second time in his career that he earned the honor. Kolb is also the fourth Green Terror player this season to be recognized.
Kolb had a huge day in the secondary for the Green Terror (3-0, 2-0 CC), thwarting Catholic drives in a 24-14 win. The senior cornerback made a career-high three interceptions for the first three-pick day for a Green Terror player since Marvin Deal intercepted three Muhlenberg passes on Oct. 5, 1996.
Kolb added three pass breakups and three tackles, including knocking down the final pass of the game to keep the Cardinals out of the end zone.
He now has four interceptions for the season and 10 for his career.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
