Senior TE to play in All-American Bowl for senior all-stars

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Woody Butler (Smithsburg, Md./Middletown), a senior on the McDaniel football team, will represent the squad at the 2011 All-American Bowl in Minneapolis, Minn., on Dec. 17.

Butler will play in the College Division II/III/Free Agent All-American Bowl at Mall of America Field at the Metrodome.

Butler, a tight end, was a second-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection – his first all-conference nod. He caught 27 passes for 498 yards – both of which ranked second on the team. He also had three touchdown grabs. His big game came on Sept. 17 at Muhlenberg, where he caught six passes for a career-high 130 yards.

The All-American Bowl was founded in 1996 to give athletes the opportunity to compete against the best at their level in an all-star game setting. The participants have been nominated for their outstanding performances throughout their season, their accomplished career, love for the game, a chance to be noticed and a last chance to play the game they love.

The Green Terror finished the season with a record of 2-8 (2-7 CC).
