LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the McDaniel football team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Tuesday.
Joe Rollins (Temple Hills, Md./Surrattsville), a senior running back, was named the Offensive Player of the Year, becoming the first Green Terror players since Broderick Maybank in 2004 to earn the conference's top offensive honor. He was also a unanimous selection to the first team, earning the honor for the third straight season. Mike Cousar (Easton, Pa./Easton) was tabbed honorable mention.
Rollins finished the season with 1,374 rushing yards to lead the conference. His 1.37.4-yard-per-game average ranks 20th in Division III at the end of the regular season. He found the end zone 13 times on the ground and had seven 100-yard rushing games and three 200-yard games. Rollins also caught 26 passes out of the backfield for 188 yards and returned 13 kickoffs for 264 yards. He also had 43 punt-return yards to finish the season with a CC-best 1,869 all-purpose yards. Rollins becomes the 13th player in program history to earn the Player of the Year honors. He finished his career second all-time with 4,641 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns. His 6,123 all-purpose yards is third all-time.
Cousar, a senior outside linebacker, is making his third straight appearance after back-to-back second-team nods. He led the team with 91 tackles, which ranked ninth his the CC. He had double-digit tackles in five of the nine games in which he played. His 10.1 tackles per game ranked eighth in the conference. He added 2.0 sacks and 7.0 tackles for loss. He also had two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
The Green Terror finished the season with a record of 2-8 (2-7 CC).
