Hoffman joined the Green Terror staff as safeties coach in 2012 and will now shift to coaching the corners in 2013, bringing a lifelong experience and knowledge of football.

A decorated college quarterback, Hoffman was an All-American and, NJCAA and CAC Player of the Year in 1984 at Montgomery College. After spending a season as the starting quarterback at West Liberty State College, he rounded out his career under center at Salisbury State in 1986, leading the Sea Gulls to a Division III runner-up finish.

Since college, Hoffman has been a physical education and health teacher in the Montgomery County Public School system. He has coached several sports during his tenure, including indoor and outdoor track and field, softball and golf.

He has also spent time coaching football along the way, including at Montgomery College, Paint Branch High School and George Mason University. He most recently spent time the 1996 season as the quarterbacks coach with the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football League with current McDaniel defensive coordinator Mike Dailey.

Hoffman took a hiatus from coaching in 1996 to spend more time with his wife, Lynn, and two young daughters, Amanda and Kelsey. Both of his daughters are now in college.
