Hutchings enters his second season on the Green Terror staff after serving the previous three seasons as the linebackers coach at Guilford.

In his first season as linebackers coach at McDaniel, Mike Cousar was tabbed to the all-conference team after ranking second on the team in tackles.

In 2012, Hutchings will oversee the team's community service efforts as well as serving as assistant special teams coordinator.

While working with the Quakers, he coached a pair of All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference linebackers, including Richard Paul, who finished the 2009 season ranked third in Division III in total tackles.

Hutchings oversaw the offensive scout team to prepare the first-team defense at practices. He was also the defensive video coordinator, breaking down all defensive video and half of the special teams film duties.

In addition to serving as linebackers coach, Hutchings was also integral in the special teams, including a punt team that did not have a kick blocked in 2009.

A four-year letterwinner at NAIA University of Virginia’s College at Wise, the inside/outside linebacker and defensive end was named honorable mention All-American by Don Hanson at defensive end in 2006.

Hutchings graduated from UVa-Wise in 2007 with a degree in health and physical education.

In the summer prior to his arrival on the Hill, Hutchings was married to Carol, a teacher and volleyball coach, in Richmond, Va.
