Vinson enters his third season on the Green Terror staff, working with the running backs – a position he knows well.
A 1993 graduate of Towson, Vinson was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1994 and remained a part of the practice squad all season. Vinson played parts of the 1997 and 1999 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, participating in 16 games total on special teams before his career was shortened by injuries.
While at Towson, he set a then-NCAA Division IAA record with 2,016 yards during his senior season of 1993. In his final home game on Nov. 13, the All-American sprinted 80 yards for a touchdown on his final carry to finish with a record-setting 364 yards. He had 691 yards rushing over his final two games that season. His 3,058 career rushing yards still ranks second in Tiger history.
Vinson, a Manchester resident, is now in graduate school at McDaniel with the goal of becoming a teacher and coach.
