WESTMINSTER, Md. – Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) broke a scoreless deadlock just 1:15 into overtime to lift McDaniel to a 1-0 Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey victory over Dickinson on Wednesday.

In the first night game ever at Scott S. Bair Stadium, the Green Terror (4-7, 2-3 CC) needed overtime for a second straight season to defeat the Red Devils (2-10, 1-4 CC) despite carrying play throughout much of the second half.

Ioni Kokdis made 18 saves for Dickinson, which was outshot 16-6 in the game and 11-1 after halftime.

Stephanie Thomson (Glen Burnie, Md./Chesapeake) made five stops for McDaniel.

Off a Kaitlin Boerman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) shot-and-save in the 72nd minute, Corson was able to beat a sprawling keeper for the game-winner.

The Green Terror returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
