Messersmith, Corson named All-CC

LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the McDaniel field hockey team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Monday.

Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) was named to the first team while Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) was tabbed honorable mention.

Messersmith, a senior midfielder, repeated her first-team selection from a year ago as a unanimous selection. Messersmith has started all 17 games and leads the team with a program single-season record 16 goals and 40 points. Her 16 goals is second in the CC while her 40 points ranks third. She is second on the squad with eight assists and has added a team-high five defensive saves.

Corson, a graduate student forward, has started all 17 games and has a team-best 10 assists, which matches the program record for a single season. She is second on the team with 22 points while her six goals ranks fourth. Corson's 10 assists is third in the league.

McDaniel (9-8, 4-6 CC) is awaiting the selection of the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic tournament to see if its season will continue. The field is expected to be announced later Monday.
