WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored the final four goals of the game to break a 1-all deadlock early and down Bryn Mawr 5-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.
Lara Haab (Gladwyne, Pa./Country Day School of Sacred Heart) scored four goals to lead the Green Terror (4-3, 1-1 CC), tallying the most goals in a game since Kim Camponelli netted four against Goucher in 2003.
Madison Beckmann scored for the Owls (3-4, 0-2 CC), who also got 13 saves from goalkeeper Faith Westdorp.
Haab opened the scoring, redirecting a Sara Reynolds (York, Pa./Central York) shot on a short corner just 5:23 into the contest.
In the 15th minute, however, Beckmann evened the game off a feed from Kayla Bixler.
Haab put McDaniel back in front four minutes later, redirecting a Sarah Bach (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) shot at the 19:31 mark before pushing it to a 3-1 lead at the break.
Bayley Vohs (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) pushed a ball through the defense that found its way to Haab in the 28th minute for the two-goal lead.
Just 2:43 into the second half, Haab once again redirected a Reynolds shot for a 4-1 lead before Julie Little (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) hit Erica DeColli (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) in the 64th minute for the final margin.
The Green Terror finished with a 25-5 advantage in shots and 13-9 edge in penalty corners.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
