WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins scored a pair of first-half goals to top McDaniel 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Wednesday.
Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) led the Green Terror (2-10, 1-6 CC) with 10 saves, reaching double-digit saves for the fourth straight contest.
Morgan Pothast led the Blue Jays (10-3, 6-0 CC) with a goal and an assist.
Pothast put back a rebound in the 11th minute before inserting a corner to Francesca Cali, who finished from the top of the circle into the top-right corner of the net nearly three minutes later.
Katie McErlean set the final margin with an unassisted tally in the 54th minute.
Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) recorded five shots for McDaniel.
Johns Hopkins finished with a 20-9 advantage in shots and 11-9 edge in penalty corners. Greta Helvie made four saves for the Blue Jays.
The Green Terror returns to action at Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
