McDaniel honored by CBOA for sportsmanship
WESTMINSTER, Md. – The McDaniel
men’s basketball team was recently honored as the recipient
of the Schoenfeld Sportsmanship Award, presented by the referees
who are members of the Collegiate Basketball Officials
Association.
The Green Terror was honored for its
sportsmanship on the part of the coach, players and fans during the
2008-09 season. Head coach Kevin Curley was on
hand at the organization’s annual banquet at the Tropicana
Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., on Saturday to receive the
award.
“It’s a great honor for our team to
be recognized for this award,” Curley said. “It goes to
show that our fans are some of the best in the Centennial
Conference (CC) and this area.”
McDaniel finished the season with a record of
18-8 (13-5 CC) and advanced to the CC semifinals for the first time
in program history. The 18 wins were the most in a single season
for the Green Terror.
