PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Muhlenberg used a 14-4 run to help defeat McDaniel 65-55 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action at The Palestra on Sunday.

Benjamin Young (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) led the Green Terror (2-12, 0-8 CC) with 11 points.

Nick Rindock paced the Mules (7-7, 5-3 CC) with 21 points that included a three-point play with 4:57 to play to give his team its first two-possession lead since early in the second half.

After an Andy Kwiatkowski (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) 3-pointer tied the game at 13-all, a Ryan Gaynor free throw and Nick Rindock layup once again gave Muhlenberg a three-point lead with 10:42 to play in the first half.

After Kwiatkowski and Gaynor traded layups, Kwiatkowski hit another triple to once again knot the game at 18-all with 7:52 showing.

The Mules, however, scored seven straight points over the next 1:22 to take a 25-18 advantage.

McDaniel held Muhlenberg without a point for the final 3:07 of the half and without a field goal for the final 6:30 to close to within 29-27 at the break.

A Rindock three-point play 1 minute, 32 seconds into the second half snapped a drought of 8:02 from the floor.

Trailing 35-30, Austin Cannon (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) hit a driving layup with 16:20 to play before Young hit two free throws and a putback to give the Green Terror a 36-35 lead and force a timeout 1:17 later.

Trailing 44-42 after a Jared Houck (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) 3-pointer in the corner, an Owen McLeod steal-and-dunk started a 5-0 run that gave Muhlenberg a 47-44 advantage with 7:44 showing for the 11th and final lead change of the game.

A Rindock three-point play with 4:57 remaining stretched the Mule lead to 53-48.

Cannon and Houck joined Young with a team-high 11 points. Cannon added four assists while Isaac Ray (Fredericksburg, Pa./Northern Lebanon) and DJ Harper (Glenn Dale, Md./Riverdale Baptist) led the way on the glass with six rebounds.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 8 p.m.
