McDaniel finishes fifth at Gettysburg Fall Invitational
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Jeff Smith (Elkridge, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) carded a 78 to lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational in men’s golf action on Tuesday.
The Green Terror, traveling with its B-team after the top five
finished sixth at the primarily Division II Vulcan Invitational on
Sunday and Monday, combined to fire a 328. York (Pa.) won the
11-team tournament with a round of 303.
Conor O’Malille (Frederick, Md./Gonzaga)
finished with a round of 82 while Taylor Massie
(Southington, Conn./St. Paul Catholic) fired an
83.
Chris Merrill (Kingsville, Md./Fallston) shot an
85 while Chris Nelson (Crofton, Md./Arundel)
carded a 91.
McDaniel returns to action at the Shark Invitational, a primarily
Division I and II tournament hosted by Nova Southeastern, at PGA
National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on Monday and
Tuesday.
