McDaniel finishes third at Gettysburg Spring Invite with B-team

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Drew Bell (Roswell, Ga./Pope) fired a round of 77 to lead McDaniel to a third-place finish at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational at The Links at Gettysburg in men's golf action on Thursday.

With the starters in Rochester preparing for this weekend's prestigious 36-hole Fred Kravitz Invitational at Oak Hill, the Green Terror's B-team took to the Links, posting a combined score of 319 to finish eight shots out of the lead.

Messiah won the seven-team invitational with a round of 311 behind the first- and second-place individuals. Matt Burkhart fired a one-under 71 while Dan Wort carded a 74.

Bell finished tied for fifth overall, matching his best score in six rounds this year.

Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) also finished in the top 10, posting a round of 79 to finish alone in 10th place.

Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) turned in a round of 81 to finish tied for 11th.

Alec Kissell (Fort Washington, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) rounded out the competitors with a score of 82, tying for 16th overall.

The Green Terror's A-team will take to Oak Hill for 18 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday against some of the top teams in the Division III.
