HARRISBURG, Pa. – Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) shot a one-over par 143 to win the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational and lead McDaniel to the team title in men's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Terror led after the first round with a score of 292 on Saturday before posting the best round on Sunday by 11 strokes to finish with a 36-hole score of 588 and outdistance second-place York (Pa.) by 17 shots in the 16-team tournament at the Country Club of Harrisburg.
MacBurnie fired an even-par round of 71 on Saturday before carding a round of 72 on Sunday to post a career-low total for a 36-hole tournament.
Brandon Vance (Worcester, Md./Methacton) finished second to his teammate with a score of 145. After carding a round of 74 on Saturday, he posted an even-par 71 in the second round.
Jack Ouellette (Malborough, Mass./St. John's) made his collegiate debut with a two-round score of 151 to place 11th in the field. He debuted with a round of 77 before carding a round of 74 on Sunday.
Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) finished 15th in the field with a score of 152. He matched Vance with a round of 74 on Saturday before finishing the weekend with a round of 78.
Charlie Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) posted a score of 155 to finish 23rd. He turned in a round of 80 on Saturday and round of 75 on Sunday.
McDaniel's B-Team is in action at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic on Tuesday before the A-Team returns to action at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 25-26.
