MOOSIC, Pa. – Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) fired a round of 72 on Monday to finish with a two-day score of 145 and win the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational in men's golf action on Sunday and Monday.
The Green Terror also captured the team title, firing a season-low round of 285 in the second round. McDaniel posted a score of 306 on Sunday to sleep on a three-shot lead before finishing with a 36-hole score of 591 to win the 12-team tournament by 25 strokes.
Vance cared a round of 73 on Sunday and sat one stroke off the lead before posting the one-over score to win the tournament.
Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) fired the team's low round of the season on Monday with a score of 69 to rally to a second-place finish with a two-day score of 147.
Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) finished fourth overall with a score of 148. He turned in a round of 75 on Sunday before firing a 73 on Monday.
Collin MacDonald (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) placed 13th in the field with a score of 153. He rallied with a final-round score of even-par 71.
Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) rounded out the Green Terror competitors with a score of 156 to place 17th. He shot a first-round score of 80 before coming back with a 76 in the second round.
McDaniel returns to action at the Centennial Conference Championship on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Brookside Country Club. The first round tees off at 12 p.m.
