GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two members of the McDaniel men's golf team have been named to the Division III PING all-region team, released by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton), a senior, is making his third straight appearance on the All-Mid-Atlantic team while Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn), a junior, makes his first appearance.
Vance led the team with a 76.2 stroke average over his 22 rounds. He won the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational this spring with a 36-hole score of 145 (73-72). He added a pair of second-place finishes, including at the Centennial Conference Championship to earn all-conference honors. In all, he posted 10 rounds of 74 or better this season, including six of his last seven rounds.
MacBurnie was second on the team with a 77.0 stroke average over his 21 rounds. He won the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational in the fall and added a second-place showing at Glenmaura this spring. He posted five rounds of 73 or better this season.
Vance and MacBurnie were among 15 players honored in the Mid-Atlantic Region and two of 100 players recognized across the six regions.
