Hatton, McHugh named CC Players of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. – Mike Hatton (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Kenny McHugh (Westminster, Md./Calvert Hall), seniors on the McDaniel men’s lacrosse team, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Players of the Week for the week ending Mar. 8.
Hatton earned the offensive nod after scoring six goals and handing
out four assists in a pair of victories. In Wednesday’s 10-7
win over Widener, he netted a career-best five goals to go with one
assists before tallying a goal and three assists in an 18-7 victory
over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
McHugh took the defensive honor, making 27 saves to lead the Green
Terror (3-0) in goal. In Wednesday’s win, he made a
career-best 21 saves. He finished the week with a .675 save
percentage and 7.07 goals-against average for the
week.
For the season, Hatton ranks second on the team in goals (7),
assists (6) and points (13). His 2.00 assists per game ranks third
in the CC. McDaniel has the top attack in the conference, leading
the way in goals (15.67), assists (9.33) and points
(25.00).
McHugh has a .646 save percentage for the season with a
goals-against average of 6.57, which ranks second in the
conference.
McDaniel returns to action at Mary Washington on Wednesday. Game
time is 3:30 p.m.
