Green Terror scores first four en route to 15-9 win over Swarthmore

WESTMINSTER, Md. – DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) recorded career highs of six goals and eight points to lead McDaniel to a 15-9 victory over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s lacrosse action on Saturday.

Gavin Musynskeb, Wes Marcik and Zach Belden each scored twice for the Garnet (1-7, 0-5 CC), who outshot McDaniel 34-33 in the game.

Goals from Marcik and Musynske 19 seconds apart trimmed the deficit to 5-3 with 13:46 to play in the first half before Gibbs Preston (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) and DiBernardo stretched the advantage back to four 4 minutes, 35 seconds later.

After Belden made it 7-4 with 2:53 to play in the second, Rickels started his natural hat trick with 1:19 to play in the period and added two in the first 4:30 of the third quarter.
