Sophomore tabbed honorable mention by USILA

BALTIMORE, Md. – DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland), a sophomore on the McDaniel men's lacrosse team, has been named an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Tuesday.

Rickels becomes the second Green Terror player in the last two seasons to earn the honorable mention nod from USILA after Mike Hatton was tabbed as an All-American last season.

An attacker, Rickles – a first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection – led McDaniel (7-8, 4-4 CC) into its second consecutive conference postseason. He led the team with 42 goals, pacing the CC with 2.80 goals per game. His 52 points was best on the team, averaging 3.47 per game – second-best in the conference. He earned back-to-back CC Offensive Player of the Week honors during a stretch in which he scored 22 goals in a five-game span.
