Motley makes eight saves

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – McDaniel scored the final five goals of the game to defeat Ursinus 6-5 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action on Saturday.

JS Duke (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) led the Green Terror (7-6, 3-3 CC) with a goal and three assists.

Mark Stratton paced the Bears (5-7, 1-4 CC) with two goals.

Trailing 5-1 after Taylor Allen scored with 11:48 to play in the third quarter, Michael Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) finished a solo run with 4:08 showing in the period.

Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) closed the deficit to 5-3 with an unassisted tally with 2:59 on the clock.

Duke found Matt Dupras (Hillsborough, N.J./Immaculata) with 12:45 to play in the fourth quarter before hitting Nick DiBernardo (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) 16 seconds later to knot the game at 5-all.

With 5:40 to play, Duke, on a restart from behind the cage, found DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) on the left wing for the go-ahead goal and the defense withstood of flurry in the waning minutes for the team's third straight win.

Dylan Spangenburg finished a solo run with 12:43 to play in the first quarter to stake the hosts to a 1-0 lead before Duke finished off a Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) assists with 7:29 on the clock.

Steve Smyrl gave Ursinus a 2-1 lead with 2:30 remaining before Stratton scored both second-quarter goals for a  4-1 halftime advantage.

Brad Motley (Fallston, Md./Fallston) made eight saves in goal for McDaniel, which was outshot by a slim 35-33 edge.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against No. 17 Gettysburg on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
