Katzen named to USILA Team of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jakob Katzen (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends), a sophomore on the McDaniel men's lacrosse team, has been named the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week for the week of Mar. 19-25.

Katzen led the Green Terror (6-3, 1-0 CC) to a 7-3 win over Haverford in the Centennial Conference (CC) opener on Saturday. He allowed just three goals while making 14 saves, including eight in the fourth quarter when the Fords pelted the defense with 20 shots. The effort keyed the first time McDaniel opened the CC schedule with a win since 2003.

Katzen was one of 10 Division III players to be named to the team.

For the season, Katzen has an 8.07 goals-against average and .572 save percentage.

McDaniel returns to action at No. 9 Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
