Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) led the Green Terror (1-0) with two goals.
Keegan Fees broke up the shutout for the Monarchs (0-1), scoring with 1:35 to play.
McCracken staked McDaniel a 1-0 lead, finishing a Max Rutherford (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) long through ball and placing a low shot inside the right post.
Edgar Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) doubled the advantage in the 54th minute.
Off a Luis Calderon (Silver Spring, Md./Bullis) one-touch cross, Rutherford pushed the lead to 3-0 with 14:55 to play before McCracken made it a two-goal day just 2:35 later.
Jack Pebole (Little Spring, N.J./Red Bank Regional) needed to just make one save in his debut, picking up the win.
The Green Terror returns to action on the second day of the Monarch/Royals Classic at Scranton on Saturday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
