WESTMINSTER, Md. – Five different McDaniel players registered a goal and eight different players recorded a point in a 5-0 Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer win over Ursinus on Saturday.
Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) scored his team-leading 10th goal for the Green Terror (4-4, 1-1 CC) to record the team's first double-digit goal-scoring season since Bill Druckenmiller tallied 10 in 2007.
Kieran Keyser made one save to lead the Bears (4-4, 1-1 CC), who were outshot 12-9 on the day.
Max Rutherford (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) finished a Richard Forka (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) feed to stake McDaniel to a 1-0 lead just 12:30 into the game.
Just 11:30 later, it was McCracken finishing a solo run for his 10th.
Jesse Caples (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) stretched the lead to three with his first career marker, scoring seven seconds before the intermission.
Kaden Phillips (Singapore/Singapore American) found Mike McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) in the 64th minute for a 4-0 advantage and his first collegiate point.
In the 73rd minute, Andrew Hofmeister (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) found David Starleper (Forest Hill, Md./Archbishop Curley) for the freshman's first collegiate goal.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made two saves between the pipes.
McDaniel returns to action at No. 13 Dickinson on Thursday. Game time is 6 p.m.
