CARLISLE, Pa. – With a goal on either side of halftime, Dickinson downed McDaniel 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Thursday.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made five saves to lead the Green Terror (4-5, 1-2 CC) while his counterpart for the 20th-ranked Red Devils (7-1-1, 2-0-1 CC) Cody Hickok had four stops in the shutout.
On just the fifth combined shot of the opening half, Javier Mena finished a pass from Sung Woo Kim to make it 1-0 with 1:47 remaining until the intermission.
Mena then found Derek Kachadurian in the 57th minute for the final margin.
The teams combined for just 16 shots in a steady rain with the hosts holding a 10-6 edge. McDaniel finished with a slim 5-4 margin in corner kicks.
Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) and Kaden Phillips (Singapore/Singapore American) led the Green Terror offense with two shots each.
McDaniel returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
