GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Four different McDaniel players scored in an offensive first 47 minutes to defeat Gettysburg 4-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.
Senior Ben Eveler (York, Pa./Red Lion) recorded his first collegiate point for the Green Terror (6-10-1, 2-7 CC), converting a penalty kick just 7:16 into the game.
Brooks Taylor recorded the assist on both goals for the Bullets (6-10-1, 1-7-1 CC), who scored fewer than four minutes apart.
After Eveler's PK staked the visitors to a 1-0 lead, Taylor found Tyler Shaffer at the 17:06 mark before hitting Noah Sheetz-Ziegal at the 21:04 mark to turn the deficit into a one-goal lead.
It took Raymond Boly (Gaithersburg, Md./Northwest) just 1 minute, 52 seconds to even the game, hitting the bottom of the crossbar and bouncing off the goalie and in. Mike McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) tapped the ball to Boly from the top of the box to record the assist.
Max Rutherford (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) put McDaniel on top just 1:12 later, knocking in a mishandle by the keeper.
Richard Forka (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) added an insurance goal 1:23 into the second half, lofting a shot from 30 yards out.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made six saves for the Green Terror.
