WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel used an early goal to propel itself to a 4-2 victory over Ursinus in the Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.

Nick Bowman (York, Pa./York Suburban) led the Green Terror (5-0, 1-0 CC) with a goal and an assist.

Colin Klingaman led the Bears (2-3, 0-1 CC) with a penalty-kick goal.

Bowman found Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) just 8:56 into the game for a 1-0 lead.

It was the only goal of the first half before Bowman was able to finish from Jacob Wells (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and an own goal made it a 3-0 lead.

Klingamna's penalty kick trimmed the deficit to 3-1 at the 56:15 mark before Randall Hilleary (Bonney Lake, Wash./Skyline) pushed the lead back to three in the 60th minute.

An own goal the other way set the final margin in the 89th minute.

McDaniel finished with a 15-8 advantage in shots and 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at Goucher on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
