Bullets record 122-55 win over McDaniel
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Drew Close won a pair of individual events to lead Gettysburg to a 122-55 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Wednesday.
The Bullets (3-0, 2-0 CC) won the first eight events to secure the meet before James Eu (Reston, Va./Hargrave Military Academy) was part of victories for the Green Terror (0-2, 0-2 CC) in the final two events.
Close was victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:48.87) and 500 freestyle (4:58.98) as one of three double winners for Gettysburg.
Tommy Everett and Matt Libby, who were half of the winning 200 medley relay, also won twice. Everett won the 50 free (22.60) while Libby touched first in the 100 free (47.53).
Eu touched first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.99 and anchored the 200 free relay, which won with a time of 1:36.83. Jason Harder (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennington), Jesse Mills (Catonsville, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) and Chris Steinheimer (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) joined Eu on the relay.
The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
