Brooks wins twice

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg won six of the first seven events en route to a 100-58 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Wednesday.

Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) won twice to lead the Green Terror (0-2, 0-2 CC), including the lone win during the stretch. Brooks took the 400 IM in a time of 4:08.73, winning by nearly 27 seconds and finishing 0.92 seconds shy of the NCAA Division III B-Cut time.

Stuart Cubbison won a pair of individual events to lead the Bullets (5-0, 3-0 CC), touching first in the 50 (22.30 seconds) and 100 (47.46) freestyle events.

Mike Harmon and Adam Weinbrom added a pair of wins each, including joining Ian Sherwood and Tyler Gould to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:41.08. Harmon also won the 100 backstroke (53.13) while Weinbrom touched first in the 100 butterfly (54.45).

Sean Kaliszak (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) won the 500 freestyle (5:31.60) and Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.74). Allen improved on his all-time third-place time with his winning time.

Brooks, Stevie Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury), Logan Linden (Millville, Del./Indian River) and Brandon Bond (Hebron, Md./Mardela) were victorious in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.33.

Brooks was also second in the 100 backstroke, debuting at No. 2 on the program's all-time list with his time of 55.42 seconds.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against St. Mary's (Md.) on Friday. Meet time is 4 p.m.
