Twelve happy men

Haverford sweeps McDaniel

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford had 12 different men contribute to a 9-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) and Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) teamed at No. 3 doubles for the Green Terror (5-4, 0-2 CC), forcing a tiebreaker before falling 9-8 to Alex Lee and Bruce Leto. Lee and Lee won the tiebreaker, 7-5.

The Fords (2-5, 2-0 CC) swept doubles and took four of the singles matches in straight sets.

Matthew Cebul and Natty Sergay won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles while Aaron Weitz led the way in singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fifth singles.

John Cummings needed a 7-5 tiebreaking third set to win at third singles while Aaron Madow rounded out the day with an 8-2 win at sixth singles after the match had been decided.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Dickinson on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
