Ursinus downs McDaniel, 8-1

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus swept all three doubles by identical 8-3 scores to lead Ursinus to an 8-1 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday.

Justin Ward (Sykesville, Md./Century) led the Green Terror (6-9, 0-7 CC) with a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, winning by identical 6-3 scores.

Evan Stutchin led the way for the Bears (11-7, 1-6 CC), adding a 6-2, 6-3 win at first singles to his 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles with Chris Wyshock.

Wyshock added victory at No. 4 singles. After Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) took the opening set 6-2, Wyshock used a 7-5 victory to force a super-tiebreaker deciding set, which he won, 11-9.

McDaniel returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
