St. Mary's downs McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. – St. Mary's (Md.) swept its way through singles play to cap a 9-0 win over McDaniel in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday.

Steve French (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Chad Palman (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) played Andrew Gear and Jay Guzzone to within 8-5 at first doubles to pace the Green Terror (0-1), who was opening its three-match fall schedule.

Guzzone capped his 2-0 day for the Seahawks (1-1) with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) won seven games for McDaniel, partnering with Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) at second doubles. Thomas Hoesman and Kyle Feeley down the sophomore duo, 8-2. Hoesman defeated Kron 6-2, 6-3 at second singles.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Lancaster Bible on Wednesday. Match time is 3 p.m.
