Kron wins No. 1 singles

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson won five of the six singles matches to finish a 7-2 Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis win over McDaniel on Wednesday.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) led the Green Terror (4-4, 0-3 CC) in singles play, winning a three-set match at No. 1 singles. Kron took the opening set 6-4 before Ari Blask forced a third-set super-tiebreaker with a 6-3 win. In the deciding set, Kron prevailed, 10-7.

Josh Kaseff won twice to lead the Red Devils (4-5, 1-0 CC), teaming with Evan Davis for an 8-6 win at second doubles before tallying a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) and Satchel McCarthy partnered for a victory at third doubles for McDaniel, tallying a 9-8 win.

McCarthy also forced a third set at third singles. Erik Dinardo took the opening set 6-4 before McCarthy notched a 6-2 win to force the deciding set. Dinardo wrapped up a 2-0 day with a 6-4 victory in the set. Dinardo also teamed with Blask for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Green Terror returns to action at Juniata on Friday. Match time is 3 p.m.
