Naper leads McDaniel in final tuneup

Green Terror compete at Millersville in preparation for CC meet

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – CJ Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) finished second in the 800 and third in the 1,500 with personal-best times in both events to lead McDaniel at the Millersville Metrics in men's outdoor track and field action on Saturday.

Naper broke two minutes for the first time in the 800 with a second-place showing in a time of 1:58.82. He bettered his previous best in the 1,500 by nearly four seconds with a time of 4:03.95 to finish third.

Kevin Bowman (Westminster, Md./Brunswick) followed Naper across the line in the 1,500 with a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 4:08.67 to lead the Green Terror in the non-scoring meet.

Bowman added a ninth-place showing in the 800 with a time of 2:01.77 as one of 11 CC qualifiers.

Jake Nichols (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) hit the standard in both hurdle events, crossing ninth in the 100 (17.43 seconds) and fifth in the 400 (59.79).

Eric Spioch (Westminster, Md./Westminster) placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.21 meters to lead the way in the field events.

The Green Terror returns to action at the CC Championship at Swarthmore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
