Men take 16th in CC warmup

Kelvey leads McDaniel with 35th-place showing at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Rob Kelvey (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 35th overall in the 8,000-meter race to lead McDaniel to an 16th-place showing at the 2009 Gettysburg Invitational in men's cross country action on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 484 points in the 25-team event on the same course that will be the host to the Centennial Conference championship in two weeks. Shippensburg won the team title with 26 points.

Kevley finished in a time of 27:35.13 in his team's final race before the conference championship.

CJ Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) finished 116th overall in the 316-person event, crossing in a time of 29:14.71 while Kevin Bowman (Westminster, Md./Brunswick finished 135th (29:34.92) in his first event of the season.

Ron Shriver (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) crossed in a time of 30:24.14 on the wet course.
