FREDERICK, Md. – Gavin Gibson (Newark, Del./Sanford) won the race to lead McDaniel at the Hood College Open in men's cross country action on Saturday.
Time and Score:
- The Green Terror finished seventh with 164 points. A total of 121 runners competed at the 8,000-meter distance. Frostburg won the 12-team meet with 71 points.
Head of the Class:
- Gavin Gibson turned in a time of 26:24.0 win the race by four seconds.
Five of a Kind: The following athletes rounded out the Green Terror's finishers:
- Shaun Thompson (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) finished 11th (28:00.8)
- Cyrus Daroowalla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 56th (30:56.6)
- Miky Kisi (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) finished 76th (33:15.9)
- Ricardo Loyola (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) finished 81st (34:10.8)
Making the List: The following athletes turned in a top-10 all-time Green Terror time at Utica Park.
- Gavin Gibson had the fastest time ever for McDaniel on the course (26:24.0) by 10 seconds.
- Shaun Thompson ranks sixth (28:00.8).
Alumni Spotlight:
- Jim Heilman '17 raced to a second-place finish behind Gibson, turning in a course PR in the process (26:28.1).
