Gibson finishes 42nd at CC championship

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gavin Gibson (Newark, Del./Sanford) finished 42nd to lead McDaniel at the 2017 Centennial Conference (CC) men's cross country championship hosted by Gettysburg on Sunday.

Time and Score:

  • The Green Terror finished ninth with 271 points. A total of 99 runners competed at the 8,000-meter distance. Haverford won its 22nd title in the 25 years the championship has been contested, finishing with 21 points to best the nine-team field by 33 points over second-place Johns Hopkins.

Five of a Kind: The following athletes rounded out the Green Terror's finishers:

  • Shaun Thompson (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) finished 79th (29:46.0)
  • Cyrus Daroowalla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 94th (31:40.0)
  • Miky Kisi (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) finished 97th (34:07.7)
  • Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished 98th (34:49.6)
  • Stephen Porembski (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) finished 99th (34:51.2).

Making the List: The following athletes turned in a top-25 all-time Green Terror time on the Gettysburg course.

Next Up: The Green Terror is back in action at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional at Big Spring High School on Saturday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m.
