McDaniel softball to participate in NFCA StrikeOut Cancer
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Beginning with its fall softball tournament on Saturday, the McDaniel softball team will be participating in StrikeOut Cancer, an initiative by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Since starting the Strikeout Cancer campaign four years ago, the
NFCA has raised thousands of dollars to support the fight against
cancer.
The Green Terror will be doing its part this season. The squad is
using its fall tournament on Saturday as a cancer awareness day
with information and ability for fans to make donations. McDaniel
will also be wearing pink jerseys as part of its support for cancer
awareness.
Throughout the 2009 season, fans will be able to pledge donations
for each strikeout recorded by Green Terror pitchers.
For more details on McDaniel’s part in the campaign or to
donate, contact head coach Phil Smith at 410-857-2568 or
