Two earn All-CC women’s basketball honors

Moreland named to first team

LANCASTER, Pa. - Two members of the McDaniel women's basketball team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Tuesday.

Ali Moreland (Davidsonville, Md./South River) was named to the first team while Ashley Lyles (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) earned a spot on the second team.

Moreland, a senior guard, leads the Green Terror (18-6, 16-4 CC) in scoring at 14.5 points per game, earning her second straight all-conference nod after being tabbed to the second team last season. Moreland has a team-best 61 steals while ranking second in assists (71) and field-goal percentage (.454). She is also fourth on the team in rebounding (4.5 rpg). She twice earned CC Player of the Week honors this season.

Lyles, a senior forward, makes her first appearance on the All-CC team after leading McDaniel in rebounding at 6.4 rebounds per game and blocked shots (52). Her 2.26 blocked shots per game is best in the conference. She also ranks third on the team in scoring (10.0 ppg).

The Green Terror, the third seed, makes its ninth straight CC tournament appearance this weekend, taking on second-seeded Gettysburg on Saturday at Muhlenberg. Game time is 4 p.m.
