BRYN MAWR, Pa. – McDaniel closed the first quarter on an 13-4 run to open up a nine-point advantage en route to a 73-48 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball win on Saturday.

Melanie Yeomans (Adamstown, Md./South Hagerstown) led the Green Terror (10-9, 8-6 CC) with a career-high 12 points.

Halena Martin led the Owls (1-17, 0-14 CC) with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Tied at 8-all, a Yeomans layup on the break with 3:54 to play in the opening quarter sparked the game-changing run to finish the period.

Halle Burgess (Ashton, Md./Good Counsel) hit two 3-pointers during the run while Yeomans contributed four points.

Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston), who finished with 12 points, capped a 10-0 run that extended the lead to 33-14 with 5:16 to play in the second quarter.

A Sara Pilkey (Fair Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) jumper just beat the first-half horn to stretch the advantage to 43-30 at the intermission.

The lead grew as large as 31 in the second half before Bryn Mawr tallied 12 of the next 14 points to make it a 60-39 game with 8:21 remaining in the fourth quarter but that's as close as the hosts could get.

Karli Zeps (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) added 11 points and seven rebounds while Burgess finished with nine points.

The Green Terror returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
