ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Kelsey Kirkman (Chesapeake, Va./Norfolk Academy) posted a two-round score of 183 to lead McDaniel at its own Spring Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Terror turned in a 36-hole score of 734 to finish second, posting a 364 on Saturday before carding a round of 370 in conditions that were 30 degrees colder over the second 18 holes on Sunday. Gettysburg won the five-team invitational with a score of 678 (337-341).
Kirkman and Meg Schlesinger (Frederick, Md./Urbana) finished with the same final score, placing tied for eighth. Kirkman posted a round of 90 on Saturday before carding a 93 in the second round. Schlesinger posted McDaniel's low round of the tournament with an 89 over the first round and posted a round of 94 on Sunday.
Casey Marson (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) finished 13th overall with a score of 185, posting a 92 on Saturday and a 93 on Sunday.
Janine Borrelli (Rockville, Md./St. John's College) was 14th with a score of 188. She turned in a round of 93 on Saturday before posting a 95 on Sunday.
Alex Philo (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) had the low round on Sunday for the Green Terror with a score of 90. She finished 18th overall with a score of 193.
McDaniel returns to action at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
