Two earn All-CC honors

McDonnell named to first team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the McDaniel women's lacrosse team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Tuesday.

Erin McDonnell (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale Prep) was named to the first team while Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) earned a spot on the second team.

McDonnell, a senior defender, earned her first All-CC nod. She started all 16 games, finishing tied for second on the team with 14 caused turnovers and added 27 ground balls. She also won 15 draw controls.

Messersmith, a sophomore midfielder, earned her second consecutive all-conference nod after being tabbed honorable mention as a freshman. Starting all 16 games, she finished second on the team with 24 goals and third on the team with 25 points. She led the team and CC with 55 draw controls, including a program-record 11 at Muhlenberg on Apr. 9. She also contributed 13 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls.

The Green Terror finished the season at 2-14 overall (2-7 CC).
