Michel tallies four and two

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford scored 10 straight goals during a stretch on either side of halftime to take a 12-5 lead en route to an 18-14 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory on Saturday.

Mallory Michel (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) led the Green Terror (5-3, 1-1 CC) with four goals and two assists while Julia Jacobs (St. Mary's, Md./Stevensonville) added four goals of her own.

Diana Perry and Maura Grant paced the Fords (5-4, 1-1 CC) with three goals apiece - part of an offense that saw nine different players net a goal.

Trailing 5-3, Perry hit a free-position shot with 14:07 to play to draw the hosts with one and start the 10-goal run.

Christina Gould evened the game with 5:03 on the clock before Megan Gallagher, Grant and Perry each tallied in the final 4:09 of the first half for an 8-5 lead.

Five different Fords scored in the first 6:46 of the second half to stretch the lead to 12-5.

Michel hit Jacobs iwth 22:34 on the clock, snapping a 21-minute, 2-second scoring drought.

Grant reestablished the seven-goal lead before Michel wrapped a pair of goals around a Hannah Morgan marker.

Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) closed the deficit to 15-9 off a Michel feed with 13:06 on the clock.

Stephanie Kisciras pushed the advantage by 16-9 before Jacobs hit the back of the net with 10:14 showing.

An own goal trimmed the margin to 16-11 just 50 seconds later before a pair of Ford goals stretched the lead to 18-11 with 3:27 on the clock.

Goals from Jacobs, Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) and Michel in the final 2:12 set the final margin.

Entrot staked McDaniel to a 1-0 lead in the game's first 1:05 before Haverford netted three straight goals in a 3-minute, 8-second span.

Entrot, Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) and Michel each hit free-position goals for a 4-3 lead with 15:12 showing.

A Jacobs solo run pushed the lead to two 36 seonds later. 

Entrot finished with three goals and two assists to go with six draw controls. Lauren McCadden (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) added five draw controls.

The Green Terror returns to action at Swarthmore on Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m.
