SWARTHMORE, Pa. – McDaniel scored three times in a 4-minute, 17-second stretch to open up a 5-2 lead en route to a 7-4 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory over Swarthmore on Wednesday.
Allison Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) and Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) each scored two goals to lead the Green Terror (6-3, 2-1 CC), who finished with a 20-12 advantage in shots.
Caroline Murphy tallied two assists for the Garnet (6-3, 1-2 CC), who got goals from four different players.
Julia Jacobs (Stevensonville, Md./St. Mary's) staked McDaniel to a 1-0 lead, finishing a solo run with 23:25 showing in the first half.
Elizabeth Upton finished the first of Murphy's helpers nearly 10 minutes later to knot the game.
Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) finished a Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) feed with 11:14 showing for a 2-1 advantage before Corinne Sommi once again evevned the game with 9:22 on the clock.
A Farrell solo run with 8:43 on the clock started the three-goal run that put the Green Terror in front for good.
Entrot followed with a free-position tally 62 seconds later before Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) finished a solo run at the 4:26 mark.
Elizabeth Bachman closed the deficit to 5-3 at the break before Lizzi Kolin made it a one-goal game just 1:33 into the second half.
Goals from Farrell and Entrot 5 minutes, 19 seconds apart set the final margin with 14:32 to play.
McDaniel won 11 of the 13 draw controls, including three by Quinn and two by Entrot.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against No. 7 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
