GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg scored 11 straight goals as part of a 20-2 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Annemarie Duerr (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) scored a first-half goal for the Green Terror (6-9, 2-6 CC) in its penultimate game of the season.
Steph Colson scored six goals and added two assists to lead the fourth-ranked Bullets (13-2, 7-1 CC), who outshot its hosts 41-16 on the afternoon.
Colson scored twice in the game's first 4:41 before then finding Katie Landry for a 4-0 lead with 24:37 to play in the opening half.
Liza Barr and Colson stretched the advantage to 6-0 before Duerr converted a pass from Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) to dent the scoreboard with 17:16 showing.
Colson and Courtney Patterson stretched the lead to 8-1 at the break.
Two Katie Willis goal ignited a run of nine more goals in the first 21:20 of the second half for a 17-1 advantage.
Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldsfield), the reigning CC and ECAC South Offensive Player of the Week, finished a solo run to break up the run with 6:44 to play.
Olivia Maenner (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) contributed four ground balls and two caused turnovers for McDaniel. Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) and Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) had four draw controls each.
The Green Terror concludes the season at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
