McDaniel splits at North/South Duals

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) recorded a pair of pins in a 3-0 day to lead McDaniel to a 2-2 day at the North/South Duals hosted by Ursinus in non-conference wrestling action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (4-8) opened the day by dropping a 25-20 decision to Oneonta before defeating Trinity (Conn.) 30-12. McDaniel fell to No. 14 Cortland 43-6 before closing the day with a 32-12 win over West Chester.
Glotfelty opened his day with a pin over Oneonta’s James Lamonica. He also pinned Cortland’s Joe Murphy for the Green Terror’s only points of that match before finishing the day with a forfeit win to cap the West Chester victory.
In the match against Oneonta, the Red Dragons trailed 14-10 before an injury default, pin and decision victory gave the squad a victory. Zach Morris (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) opened the match with a pin at 125 before the Red Dragons recorded pins at 133 and 141 to take a slim 7-6 lead. Brent Lowe’s (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) technical fall pushed the Green Terror lead back to four before Oneonta’s Eric Simmons and Zach Hetrick (Hanover, Pa./South Western) traded decision wins nat 157 and 165.
Morris added his second win of the day by a 3-0 decision to open the match against Trinity. Matt Peters (Annadale, Va./W.T. Woodson) keyed the victory with a 3-minute, 43-second fall in the midst of a seven straight victories that turned a 6-3 deficit into a 30-6 lead.
Back-to-back technical falls from Lowe and Peters keyed the win over West Chester. Lowe’s (157) win came by an 18-2 margin in the first period while Peters (165) came in the final period by a 15-2 margin.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Thursday. Match time is 7 p.m.
